If you want to give birth to your true self, you are going to have to dig deep down into that body of yours and let your soul howl. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that if you turn off your head, your feet will take you where you need to go.
— Gabrielle Roth

Your body is a living, dynamic expression of who you are.  When we dance, we allow this expression to become poetry in motion, a celebration of our uniqueness and authenticity.  When we take time to connect more deeply with our bodies through any kind of body work, we connect with the Earth - grounding ourselves in the biological reality of human existence.  When we dance intuitively, we are offered an opportunity to bring ourselves more deeply into the present moment, weaving stronger connections between body, breath, heart and mind.

As we allow our minds to relinquish control to our moving being, we begin to learn the language of the body and we are able to interpret its wisdom to enrich our experience.  Through intuitive dance, we develop a profound relationship to our bodies and begin to create a dialogue with it.

Everyone is a dancer.  Each of us has a dance within that can only be danced by us and us alone.  Intuitive dance means no steps to follow, no choreography to learn, no way to do it wrong.  The dance floor becomes a testing ground for truth, a place where we can listen and give shape to what is within.  My workshops offer a space in which anyone and everyone can move into this space of exploration, expression and authenticity.  A space to move and to find stillness, to share and to listen, to witness and be witnessed and dance the road less travelled from the head to the heart.

I love to dance, but have seldom done it in this kind of setting, so again this was an entirely new experience. It was interesting to note that any self-conscious feeling, which was of course an initial concern going into the ceremony, was not present at all and the movement and dancing came totally naturally. The music was rich and varied and easy to dance to and you are free to move in any way you feel, there are no rules - liberating!

I loved this dance and felt liberated, free and inspired. I felt totally comfortable and at ease. What a gift that girl has.

What Omotayo has created with Sacred Shapes is a truly powerful space for people like me (trying to build a better connection with their body and their mind) to heal. If your body doesn't feel as free as it should then this is the place for you.
